Diagnostic Review

A one-off assessment for any GCSE, IGCSE, A Level or Level 3 student unsure where the marks are going. A specialist tutor reviews a piece of work against the exam provider’s mark scheme and reports back in writing on topic gaps, exam technique and what to prioritise next. No lesson package required.

UK qualifications, explained

Not sure which qualification you need? Here is a quick guide, with the awarding bodies that set each one.

  • GCSEUsually taken around age 16.
    • AQA

    The main set of exams in UK schools, normally studied over two years. Grades are given from 9 down to 1, and they decide what a student can go on to study next.

  • IGCSEThe international version, taught in British schools worldwide.

    • Oxford AQA

    Same level of demand as GCSE, with content and assessment designed for an international audience. Widely taught in British international schools.

  • A LevelUK sixth form qualification, usually taken around age 18.

    Students normally choose three subjects and study them in real depth over two years. A Levels are the usual route into UK universities.
